The Animal Intake Room is a very important space for any animals coming into the shelter. The animal Intake room is where it all begins, as soon as an animal walks through the shelter doors.
In this room our trained staff do a full examination of an animal coming into care, and will determine if the animal can stay in the shelter or needs Veterinary care. All animals are checked for identification, vaccinated, treated for internal and external parasites, weighed and given their shelter identification number. You could say this is the most important room in our building. Having a quiet space like this, provides a calm, stress-free environment to conduct examinations. A shelter can be a scary space for an animal, and having a safe space to perform their initial intake is so beneficial.
